The Role of the Homeowner

An association is made up of homeowners. The homeowners are the most important members within an association.

They have the responsibility to elect a Board of Directors who will handle the day-to-day operations of the association. It is then extremely important for the owners to elect board members who have knowledge and/or expertise managing an organization.

The homeowners will also want to be sure the individuals have integrity, are honest, and most importantly, deal with everyone fairly and equally.

Too often, the ownership may elect board members (who may be friends) that do not have the knowledge and expertise they need to succeed.
